The micro-invasive treatment of smooth surface and proximal caries lesions is possible with this method. It allows for the treatment of lesions in the first third of dentin (D-1) in a single patient visit, without the need for drilling or anaesthesia. Icon can halt the progression of early enamel lesions (caries) and white spot caries-like lesions. Treated lesions will no longer have a whitish appearance and will resemble healthy enamel.
