You're most probably brushing your teeth wrong.

You're most probably brushing your teeth wrong.

Here are 3 tips to help you to brush up on your skills.

Fluoride.

Do you even know what that is? You should do! Next time you go to brush your teeth, just check that your toothpaste contains fluoride (preferably 1350-1500 ppmF of it). Without it it's hardly worth using. Fluoride replaces any lost minerals in teeth and also makes them stronger.

Spit, don't rinse.

When rinsing your mouth with water after brushing your teeth, you're basically washing away the fluoride in your toothpaste (assuming you were using a fluoride toothpaste!). By spitting not rinsing you can reduce tooth decay by 25%.

And why not just help your teeth cope?

Your teeth will typically struggle to fight more than four 'sugar hits' per day. So say goodbye to all the biscuits, cups of sugary tea or coffee and other carbonated snacks, like crisps that you're enjoying. They're doing your teeth no good. Try just having a limited amount of those, it'll be worth it.
