Dental crisis looms, experts warn

Experts have warned that a dental crisis is looming as more and more evidence of poor NHS dentistry provision emerges. Peterborough Council is the latest to call for action to be taken as it emerged that over 6,000 patients were turned away for dental care in the year to March 2018, with only two practices in the area currently accepting new NHS patients. Earlier this year, a crisis was also flagged in Wales, with only six dentists across the country accepting NHS patients.
