Nurturing this passion and expert knowledge at all levels of our company – from the ‘old hands’ in senior positions right down to our new starts is something we are totally committed to and we’re very proud to say that this ethos is stronger than ever since our recent rebrand. Even though we know this to be true, it’s always nice to hear it – and so we were delighted to have a chat with Emma Wilson, who has been with the company for over seven years, but still gets a buzz out of introducing customers to the Denka difference!
Hi Emma! Tell us a little bit about your role with Denka:
Here at Denka I am a dedicated account manager. My main role is to look after my accounts, saving customers time and money by getting them on board with Denka ordering our own branded dental consumables. I also make outbound calls to new practices, introducing them to Denka and hopefully contacting the buyer so I can discuss how we work then send samples so they can try our core products. When I'm not making outbound calls, I'm responding to any customers with price/product/delivery queries ensuring all our customers are receiving a high level of customer service Denka has to offer.
What was your professional background prior to working at Denka?
I worked as a sales account manager for Biffa Ltd – they’re a hazardous waste management company.
What do you enjoy most about working at Denka?
Working with an excellent team – I describe them as the Denka family because we are very close knit. I also love speaking with such bubbly, friendly dental staff and the fact that I am still learning something new about dental products and materials every day!
What’s the most challenging thing?
Getting through to the correct contact can sometimes be a challenge. I do understand how busy they are but some receptionists assume I’m just another sales caller when in fact I am returning the customer’s call. I also wish there were more hours in the day so I could tell more prospects how fantastic Denka is!
Do you have any hobbies or interests away from work?
Spending time with family and friends, and walking my dog Luna. I also do some running, and take part in the Race for Life event at Chesterfield each year.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that colleagues might not know?
I once wrote a poem at school and it was published in a book called Young Writers of Derbyshire. Another one is that I’ve only ever broken one bone in my body – my arm. This was done as 10 or 11-year-old running after a teddy bear my friend had thrown on a muddy park field!
What’s the one thing that always makes you smile?
Memories. Spending time with my family and friends, reminiscing on past and giggling about any funny stories we remember.
